At Reed Harris we love to create mood boards to inspire ourselves and of course our clients who are always looking to us for new ways and new combinations to use our products.
We recently met Alison from Style Library at the Amara Blog Awards and she invited us down to use their new showroom to come up with great interior schemes using their brands and products. We of course bought some of our new tiles along and were excited about creating a few moodboards!
The Style Library is a new showroom concept showcasing six of the best British interior design brands, namely, Zoffany, Sanderson, Harlequin, Scion, Morris & Co. and Anthology. They are all ultimately part of the same group so it made sense to open a new showroom dedicated to them.

The tiles we decided to take along you would have seen before here, in our New Moderns blog post. They are really dynamic and with the rise in popularity of terrazzo style porcelain tiles we knew we would easily be able to have some fun with them together with Style Library’s wall coverings and fabric collections.
For these schemes we took inspiration from autumnal colours and current colour trends such as amber, deep blue and mauve. We are seeing these colours everywhere lately across both interiors and fashion. Our grey terrazzo tiles are the perfect backdrop to the pops of strong colour and the soft, luxurious textures from the Style Library’s fabric collections.
With this blue-based moodboard we paired our Stile Grey tile with Sanderson’s plush Taormina and Icaria fabrics, along with Anthology’s Veda Entity which exudes a wonderful mixture of teal and emerald colours. Sanderson’s Smoky Blue paint adds in a final paler touch that completes the overall look.
This warm amber mood board was created using our Modernist Clay tile as a backdrop. It’s flecks of yellow subtly come through without being overpowering, yet still adding to the overall warm tones emanating from the scheme. Zoffany’s Tespi Spot fabric boldly captures the eye while being complimented by Harlequin’s Boutique Velvet and Zoffany’s Landsbury fabric; adding both lighter and darker tones into the mix. Finally Sanderson’s Graphite, Fine Black and Den LT paints serve as the accentuating elements of the scheme, allowing the lighter shades found in the fabrics and tile to really stand out.
With this mauve dominant mood board we used our modernist grey tile as a backdrop, allowing the delicate tones from the various fabrics from Boehme Linens, Scion and Harlequin to stand out. The three mauve paints each complement the differing shades found in the visually engaging Entity Segments Gold Damson fabric.
It’s always great to meet and collaborate with fellow industry suppliers and create fresh new schemes and mood boards and together inspire our clients with what we can offer them. Style Library is a great resource for all things interiors (except tiles of course) and we hope next time they pop up the King’s Road and visit us with their new collections!
